Miss Everywhere @ Gili Islands

Gili Trawangan, the busiest of the three Gili Islands is known for its nightlife and parties and was the last stop of my island hopping tour. I decided to stay at the lovely Hotel Ombak Sunset which is only ten minutes away from the main bar strip but offers a more relaxed vibe and beautiful sunset views that can only be seen on this part of the island. The Hotel Ombak Sunset has not only the longest pool of any hotel on the islands but also makes you comfortable with choosing from 152 rooms and 6 different room categories depending on your budget. I stayed at one of their sunset bungalows that are decorated in traditional Balinese design with outdoor bathrooms. Further facilities include three restaurants, a spa and boutique, open air cinemas, sundays yoga by the beach and live music entertainment at the beach bar. It is the perfect place for a friends or couple vacation who want to relax in style during the day but also be close enough for a night out.

How to get there: 

Speed boats operate daily from Bali´s Sanur port and take about 2,5 hours to Gili Islands.

What not to miss:

My fav spot, the three water swings at the beach bar to watch the most stunning sunsets in a lounge atmosphere.

The signature dinner called Rijsttafel at the Sea Breeze restaurant is a must do to experience. The Rijsttafel contains a combination of traditional food, seafood, meat and veggie finishing with a dessert wonderfully designed in coconuts.

What else to do:

Rent a bike at the hotel and go around the 9km tiny island of Gili trawangan within 40 minutes.

Casa vintage cafe is a very cute little bohemian outdoor cafe in the trees right by the beach and great for having a drink lying in one of their hammocks.
