Miss Everywhere @ Trinidad & Tobago

Coming from Cologne, the city of German carnival, I was excited to go on a pre carnival trip to the twin islands of Trinidad and Tobago, the most southern of the Caribbean islands located just above the Venezuelan coast. Whereas Trinidad and it´s capital Port of Spain offers the vibrant Caribbean city life, Tobago and its many calm beaches is the place for someone who prefers it more quiet and relaxed. It is an island you can visit all year but if you get the chance I would recommend visiting in February and March to experience the carnival vibe, which is the most significant event of the year for locals. During the weeks before the actual two day carnival event many fun activities take place with a caribbean spirit all its own. Get together with the locals and enjoy the colorful costumes and parades to the sound of local calypso and soca music.

How to get there:

Flights to Trinidad & Tobago via New York or Miami.

Where to stay:

Hyatt Regency Trinidad: The best hotel in Port of Spain on the promenade, with an infinity rooftop pool great for sunset chillouts and close to everything the city has to offer.

$$

Magdalena Grand Resort Tobago: Located in the south of Tobago this middle class beachfront hotel is a great spot to explore the island

$$

What not to miss:

A boat trip to bucco reef and pelican island, the smallest island I have ever seen.

Argyle waterfall, the highest waterfall in Tobago.

Tobago Cocoa estate and plantations. Get a glimpse what fruits are grown on the island and how chocolate is made. Try my favorite final product, the local hot chocolate tea.

Jemma’s treehouse restaurant in Speyside in the very north of Tobago is a unique place for lunch and dinner offering all kind of seafood variations and a beautiful oceanview.

Lucky you, tolle Fotos! Weiß gar nicht, welchen deiner Posts ich mir zuerst angucken soll, haha! xoxo
