Only 30 minutes by speedboat from Bali you will find the calm and untouched island of Nusa Lembongan with only 2000 inhabitants.
Perfect for younger couples who like nature and the back to basics feel, and for everybody looking for a quiet and peaceful getaway from Bali. There are no cars on Nusa Lembongan but you can rent a motorbike and do some exploring.
How to get there:
Boats from Bali´s port Sanur go daily in the morning.
What not to miss:
Dream beach, the nicest little bay on Lembongan awaits you with turquoise water and delicious traditional lunch at the cozy Café Pandan.
Blue Lagoon offers romantic sunset views over the cliffs and ocean stones.
Makana cliff jumping offers 5 and 10 meter high cliff platforms. For everyone who likes it a little adventurous this will be your spot. Even though I am a little afraid of heights I did it and it was fun and gives you an adrenalin rush.
Where to stay:
The island has no commercial hotel chains and most of the accomodations can not be found on booking systems. I went to the island spontaneously and just asked for vacancy at one of the many accomodations right on the beach.
