Weekend escape @ Amare Beach Marbella

I just got back from a wonderful long weekend in Marbella. It was my first trip to the city in the south of spain and I was pleasantly surprised that it has a lot more to offer than just bling bling pool parties 🙂

We stayed at Amare Marbella Beach Hotel which is an adults only hotel that has 235 rooms and a great location being directly set on the beach promenade so you can decide between laying down by the pool or on a sunbed right on the beach.

The hotel has 3 restaurants, one for breakfast by the pool, one with evening entertainment for dinner and one beach restaurant with beach club atmosphere which is great for a lunch snack.

You can rent bikes to explore the surrounding area. I loved the old town of Marbella which is only a 10 minute walk away from Amare Marbella Beach Hotel and was such a surprise with its colorful streets full of flower houses. From the hotel its only 5 minutes by bike or 10minutes walking.

While Marbella doesn’t have the most beautiful beaches you will ever see, it has perfect sunny temperature throughout the entire season from May to October.

How to get there:

We flew to Malaga nonstop from Cologne. From Malaga airport it’s a 45 minute drive to Marbella.

What else to do:

-My favorite was strolling around the old town of Marbella with little shops and picturesque streets where you will discover something beautiful in every corner.

-take part in a flamenco class offered at Amare Marbella Beach Hotel. I love dancing and it was great fun to elarn the most traditional dance of spain.

-Dinner at the Farm. This restaurant does not only have the most delicious Spanish food from tapas to paella but also in the most comfortable setting with beautiful outdoor interior. Def a must when visiting Marbella.

-The legendary port of Marbella with tons of yachts, little shops and restaurants is nice to walk around and explore for an early evening stroll.

-An early morning wake up yoga class at Amare Marbella Beach Hotel.

-When you are into golf Marbella has lots of gold courses around to play.

It was a lovely weekend and I hope to be back very soon 🙂
