Long beaches, tropical weather, palm trees, brunch parties, nightlife- Welcome to Miami. The city is always a good idea for a quick beach escape whether for a relaxing trip with boyfriend or girlfriend or just to celebrate with friends. I checked out many places in Miami for you and hope to give you some ideas of the coolest hotspots for your next trip to Miami.
Where to stay:
W South Beach: In terms of the hippest place to be in Miami there is no way you can miss the W South beach. I was lucky to visit this hotel for some fashionshows during swimweek last summer already and immediately fell in love with the place. While the outside of the hotel looks more like the typical Miami towers and doesn’t promise anything special the inside looks like a super stylish design temple screaming VIP. Decorated with a collection of masterpiece art paintings worth more than 40 million Dollar by legends such as Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel, W South Beach plays in his own league when it comes to Art Hotels in Miami. W, the youngest brand in the Starwood family represents the ‘whatever whenever’ concept. Is it some special cocktail you fancy or your favorite potatoe chips at 3 am, whatever you desire simply press your ‘whatever whenever’ button on your phone and the W team will try to make you happy. I loved the minibar and snacks. Besides regular treats you also find fun products like an emergency tie or face masks. Double rooms come with beach front views and if thats not enough just upgrade yourself to a Wow or Extreme Wow suite with panoramic penthouse views. The pool is THE spot to be seen in South Beach and the hotelbar has become a legendary meeting point for the hippest crowd in Miami. When going for a night out at the W lounge club Wall make sure to be prepared to run into some celebrities. In overall W South Beach combines stylish design and art and lives up to its reputation of providing the extra Wow factor.

How to get there:
I flew on a direct flight from Düsseldorf with Air Berlin in their new XL seats. Flights with Air Berlin to Miami operate daily, you find my blog post about the flight here
What not to miss:
Wynwood Walls: Visit the colorful outdoor drawings and streetart in the trendy art district of Miami. Artists are from all over the world color the walls of Wynwood.
Style Mafia: probably the coolest boutique in Miami. Owner Simonette, a former fashionblogger founded her own label and opened her own store 2 years ago in the trendy art district of Miami. Her concept is to offer stylish designs at affordable prices. I fell in love especially with her dresses and detailed jackets immediately. The designs of Style Mafia are different, have very unique cuts and details with looks of red carpet designerwear. With price ranges from 30 to 400 Dollar, a definite must visit for all shoppinglovers in Miami. And for everyone far away, the good part is their online shop ships worldwide.
Nailbar & Beauty Lounge Midtown: Okay ladies, time to get pampered in style. With customers like Jennifer Lopez, this place is not just like any nailbar. Sit in stlish eggchairs during your treatment while sipping champagne for free and surf the internet on your private tablet. Treatments vary between 30 and 80 dollars and besides regular pedicure and manicure also special champagne treatments are offered. Recommended for all women who like their treatments in style, all men looking to send their girlfriends somewhere when they want to watch a game, as well as for girls trip relaxation and bdays.
Azucar: My secret tip for all icecream lovers. Located in little Havana this ice cream store makes homemade Cuban ice cream in the craziest flavors with traditional Cuban ingredients. From avocado over balsamico strawberry to champagne grapefruit. For all ice cream lovers this is a must visit. My favorite flavor – Abuela, a combination of crackers, cream cheese and guava.
Where to eat:
Cibo wine bar and restaurant: Looking for an Italian restaurant in Miami ? Stop looking further, this is it. Freshmade pasta and more than 3500 thousand wines await you in romantic modern atmosphere. The highlight is the flying wine waitress who selects your choice of wine from a wall of bottles before presenting it to you.
Pubbelly Sushi: Short and simple, great sushi variations in a casual lovely neighbourhood setting.
La Perrada de Edgar: For all hotdog lovers who love to taste new creations. La Perrada de Edgar creates the craziest hot dog combinations. For 6,50 US I had a hotdog with cheese, raisins and whipcream. And even though I have to say the idea of a hotdog with whipcream sounds more weird than really delicious at first it actually was surprisingly good.
What else to see:
Dylans Candybar: Welcome to Candy heaven. I have to admit my hearts beats faster when I enter this store as you find all kind of sweets in all possible variations. My highlight are the candy cocktails with cotton candy at the bar. Kim Kardeshian celebrated her birthday here and seriously, who wouldn’t ?
Cigar factory: Even though I don’t smoke I thought this one is a nice tip for you and a great place to get gifts for loved ones while in Miami. In little Havana, you find Cuban cigar factories that produce and roll cigars right in the store. Its quite interesting to see the process how cigars are made and the variety of cigars the shop has to offer.
Schöne Bilder von einer wunderbaren Stadt!
