Lily Beach Resort & Spa @Maldives

Welcome to Paradise at Lily Beach Resort & Spa. This 600 m little atoll is one of these postcard beautiful places I dream of at night. After our long arrival I had to pinch myself when I saw this crystal clear turquoise water that surrounds the Huvahendhoo atoll.

We had a deluxe water villa that is in very modern style and comes with bedroom, open bathroom with freestanding bathtub and a big terrace with a 7 sqm pool facing the ocean and stairs for stepping right into it. I also loved the little seethrough glass floor areas in our room from where you can directly see the ocean and the fish swimming by.

The thing that differentiates the Lily Beach Resort & Spa from other properties in the Maldives is that it is a 5 star platinum all inclusive resort. This means that besides breakfast, lunch and dinner all drinks, cigars and alcohol are included in the price. So for me spending my birthday there, this meant cake and waffles all day long 🙂 The buffets offer everything you can imagine and the hotel also has 2 A la carte restaurants and 2 evening bars.

The island also has one of the nicest lagoons with shallow water for snorkeling and offers plenty of watersport activities. I loved snorkeling around the atol, jumping in the water from my room seeing sharks and the most colorful fish I have ever seen.

Lily Beach Resort & Spa is a great choice for travelers who dream of living the ultimate Maldives dream but who want to keep an overview of their costs as food and drinks, especially alcohol in Maldives is usually very pricey in upscale hotels. In general the Maldives are a high end destination, but it is a beauty of its own so that I recommend everyone to go at least once in life if you have the chance.  Recommended for couples, families, honeymooners and groups of friends.

You might remember that during my last Maldives trip I tested two hotels, if you are curious about the second hotel,  you can find the other review and video here

How to get there:

We flew with Emirates to Mahle and from there it’s a 25 minute seaplane ride with stunning views over the Maldives atolls. After our long arrival it was nice to be welcomed at the private lily beach airport Lounge in mahle which only very few hotels in the Maldives have and which was a nice extra for waiting in between flights on chillbeds with tv, drinks and complimentary snacks.

What else to do:

Segway tour: Rent some segways at reception and cruise around the island.

Night fish feeding: the nightly fish feeding is nice to watch sharks and my beloved manta sting rays from very close.

Spa treatment: Get a treatment from the spa and relax to the sounds of the ocean

Sunset boat trip: For the best sunset views
