I am often asked what my favorite hotel is, and as this is quite difficult as there are so many beautiful and different places in the world, the Hideaway Beach Resort & Spa in the Maldives definetly made it among my favorites.
The Maldives atolls are a league of its own when it comes to nature and beauty and currently offer 105 hotels throughout all Maldives atolls of different categories. I fell in love with Hideaway Beach Resort & Spa quickly and strong for every little detail about this property and atoll being so beautiful you feel like you never want to leave this place.
The entire island is 1,4 km long, which felt exactly right -not too big and not too small and is surrounded by the clearest turquoise water I have ever seen. The property offers 100 rooms in total, 50 overwater bungalows and 50 huge beach villas, each far from the other, in very remote, lush scenery. The hotel went through a refurbishment a year ago and everything is brand new, spacious and super modern in bright colours. Together with that refurbishment CEO Michael Wieser selected his staff and chef cooks from the best hotels around the world, positioning Hideaway beach Resort & Spa as the new jewel on Maldives Hotel heaven. Providing an excellent service the hotel manages to keep a casual and chilled atmosphere at the same time.
Our overwater bungalow was nothing for weak nerves and came with private concierge butler, open bathroom, freestanding bathtub, the biggest private pool I have seen in the Maldives in an overwater bungalow and crystal clear turquoise water right in front. 3 restaurants offer a la carte, world cuisine, and Japanese fusion and are all promising an explosion of taste. The rooms are nicely spread around the island so even when its fully booked you don’t see anyone else if you don’t want to.
Beach cocoons, Shisha beach tents and a big cinemas sreen right on the beach for weekly beach movie nights, give the extra chill-wow factor. In this place you can really live the postcard feeling of being stranded on a private island and having the beach all to yourself. I absolutely love this place and cant imagine how someone could not.
Hideaway Beach Resort & Spa is a fabulous place for all couples, honeymooners, watersport lovers and James Bonds of this world seeking the ultimate paradise experience.
