One highlight experience of this summer was for sure taking part in The Yacht Week Italy. Together with blogger Sophia, Natascha, Marc and Oscar we spent a week on a catamaran sailing around the beautiful islands of Sicily. The delicious breakfasts created day by day by our sweet hostess, the feeling of the sea breeze while working on your tan on the deck of the catamaran, the funny evening talks during dinner or dancing the night away under a sky full of stars – just a glimpse oft he fun moments of this week that come back to my mind.
The week was filled with lots of strolling around cute little streets of Sicily, jumping in the water again and again in different lagoons and one of the things I truly wont forget- the Stromboli hike. And when i say hike i mean a 5 hour hike up an active volcano. And let me tell you it is nothing for weak nerves. My euphoria disappeared after 10 minutes of the steep hike when I realized I had another 4 hours and 50 minutes to go, but well, the view from up there is rewarding and it was definetly a challenging experience in itself 🙂
And of course you cant go to Italy without a little wine tasting which took place in a beautiful outdoor setting embedded in green landscape. The Yacht Week crew designs a different optional program for every day, such as regatta where everyone dresses up or a white beach party, which makes the entire journey super fun as you experience something new every day.
I would say the Sicily route is a great mix if you like to relax during the day and getting to know the culture oft he Sicilian islands, love italian food and like to have a little party in the evenings.
The Sicily destination is the smallest of the yacht week routes with about 12-25 boats taking part, which has the advantage that you really get to know all people of the other boats at the organized yacht week events and parties on the different islands. Besides Sicily you can also book the yacht week in Croatia, Greece, british virgin island. I loved the international vibe, you meet people from all over the world who come together to have a great time.
The Yacht Week is right for you if you are looking to spend a fun week with your friends on a boat. It is recommended to book early in advance as the routes are usually sold out quickly. The 2017 routes are now open to book hereÂ
