Oh what a bliss to return to the beautiful Seychelles. This time I was super lucky to stay at MAIA Luxury Resort & Spa and let me tell you this place is nothing for weak nerves. Our room was not a room, it was a 200 square meters James Bond like house called the MAIA signature villa on the cliff with big pool, outdoor Jacuzzi, private access to the beach and outdoor patio overlooking the ocean with private butler. I remember when we walked in to the room that we couldn’t believe how beautiful it was. And even now that I have left the Seychelles I am still not over this place.
MAIA Luxury Resort & Spa is one of those special places where you have to pinch yourself over and over again to realize your not dreaming and the right choice for honemooners who like to get spoiled to the max and those who want to relax ultra private in a luxury environment. I loved waking up to the sunrise shining through the big glassfront windows in front of your bed. The butler surprised us everyday with little extras like the rose bath jacuzzi in the evening perfect for gazing at the stars or little snacks throughout the day.
The hotels setting is a jungle atmosphere and all of the 30 villas are very private and romantic set along the beach or higher on the mountains, both with breathtaking views and the feeling of no neighbours. You also have a spa where I can recommend the massage treatment in one of their outdoor treatment rooms where you can hear the jungle atmosphere and birds singing during your treatment.
The hotel rate includes meals and even though the hotel was completely booked during our stay we saw maximum of 2 other couples at the hotel when at the dining restaurant due to most guests enjoying their meals in their villa. Even the common beach area you do not see many guests due to the very private atmosphere there.
Yes its very pricey and I would recommend MAIA Luxury Resort & Spa for everyone who is into luxury paradise retreats, romantic getaways, honeymoon or love couples seeking for a very exclusive holiday experience with lots of privacy. It is a diamond hotel in the Seychelles that can not be forgotten that easily.
We also we catched the ferry for a day trip to the island of La Digue which I cant recommend highly enough when visiting the Seychelles. Its one of my favorite places in the Seychelles with the famous Anse Source D’argent dream beach and big turtles crossing the streets when your exploring the island by bike, which only takes around 1 hour as the island is so small. If you have a little extra time I would recommend to stay in la Digue for 2-3 nights as well, there are no big resorts on this island more smaller hotels that all looked very cute. Also we hiked up the mountains together with some locals who were so friendly showing us the most beautiful views over La Digue.
