As an absolute beachlover I always tried to escape the winter days soon after the Christmas holidays to somewhere sunny until my friends convinced me this year to try some snow vacation. So together with my boyfriend and a friend we decided to do a trip to Zürs in Austria. SEAT pimped our trip with the perfect snow vehicle, a red SEAT Ateca that I had driven some months ago already in Austria. The car is SEAT`s first SUV and is very comfortable to drive and brought us safe and quick to Austria in only 6,5 hours from Cologne. The SEAT Ateca is available in 12 stylish colors and its 4 drive technology makes it the perfect car for all weather conditions. The 360 degree camera mode while parking is a great help when sight is limited and i also loved the blinking light indicating someone driving along fast behind you when on the highway, which is a great extra tool preventing accidents. The keyless opening and closing the car option is also great for people like me who constantly search for their keys when they are somewhere hidden in the depths of your handbag. We loved driving the stylish and comfortable SEAT Ateca with lots of space that prove to be the ideal partner in crime for practical use of all daily situations.
We stayed at Hotel Edelweiss in Zürs which is a very traditional older property directly at the ski lift in front of the door with a long history and one of the most personal run places I have ever been to. I can not imagine someone not feeling comfortable at this place as the Edelweiss Hotel owners run the place with such care making it a place for guests getting to know each other during their stay resulting in many loyalty customers returning a few times a year. All of the rooms are different and very detailed with colorful doors and paintings on the walls.
The rates include breakfast and 3 course dinner menue and let me tell you when I say food I mean the type of food you cant get enough of; Kaiserschmarrn, meat and fish or desserts. I have rarely been in a hotel where everything, regardless what your taste is like, is so delicious. When I went to bed I closed my eyes looking forward to the breakfast already and after the breakfast when I went skiing I was already looking forward to the dinner again.
And yes you read correctly; I went skiing with the side notice that I have never been skiing in my life before. I took ski lessons at Skischool Zürs, which was recently ranked as best ski school in the world having 240 ski teacher offering private lessons for all ski levels. My teacher Hannes always met me in the morning at the ski basement at Hotel Edelweiss where I rented all of my ski equipment. This is a great service and advantage for all beginners and people who don’t want to buy their ski equipment beforehand.
The ski area Zürs doesn’t only have the biggest snow man in Europe but also the new high-tech Trittkopf lift now combining the 5 ski areas of Zürs, Lech, Stuben, Warth and Sant Anton, making it the biggest ski areal in entire Europe.
For some lunch snack with the best view in Lech make sure to visit Schlegelkopf restaurant where you can enjoy some sushi with breathtaking mountain views. All shopping lovers should plan a stop at Strolz, the concept store in Lech that has everything from ski clothes to fancy interior items.
I loved to relax at the Edelweiss wellness sauna area after my ski lessons and the hotel also has a gym for all who want to work out besides all the delicious food 🙂
For the evenings you can meet at the bar of Edelweiss hotel and enjoy some delicious Bellini cocktail or dance the night away in the Edelweiss own nightclub Zürsal that is a popular place for the party crowd of Zürs and Lech getting together in the evenings, as the club also allows guests who are not staying at Edelweiss hotel.
It was a wonderful cozy times to relax with lots of traditional Kaiserschmarrn, and tea chills by the fireplace until it was time to pack again for our SEAT Ateca to bring us home again.
