I always love coming back to London, the city brings back so many memories from the wonderful time I spent there while studying. Especially during winter time London is so beautiful to stroll around with the Christmas decoration and many lights around the city 🙂
This time I had the pleasure to stay at a rental home booked via FeWo-direkt. We looked through all the different homes they have listed for London and I have to admit it was quite hard to decide for one place as there are so many beautiful ones to choose from .
In the end we decided for a 2 bed room place in Kensington which you can find here and we couldn’t have made a better decision. We already fell in love when we entered the street with all the typical white London houses lined up next to each other. The agent of our property called us in the morning and came to the house by the time we arrived and handed us the keys personally together with a mobile and some welcome snacks such as tea and cookies.
We soon realized okay our home was not a tiny flat, it was a 3 story house that belongs to a cute little family who live there when not rented out. The rooms were huge compared to the common size of hotel rooms in London. Also we didn’t just have one room, no we had two bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a very speacious and cozy living room with open kitchen.
We felt so comfortable like being at a home of friends that we also behaved like being home spending the evening with popcorn watching movies as the property came equipped with apple tv and dolby surround system J
We found us daydreaming how we could imagine living here, wondering if we cant stay a little longer soon coming to the conclusion that FeWo-direkt is a great alternative for staying at any hotel. Especially in big cities like London or New york hotel prices can sky rock and for the same price you can rent a much bigger properties and stay with friends feeling like home.
Especially the bigger properties for up to 13 people are a great choice to spend Christmas abroad, new years evening or your summer holiday with family and friends in a homelike atmosphere. Below you find some impressions of our trip and some of my favorite spots in London 🙂
Daisy Green: Flowers hanging from the ceiling and flowers in your porridge. At this coffee breakfast place you can expect healthy food in an Alice in wonderland kind of setting.
Milk train: Okay all ice cream lovers. This new place is where all my ice cream dreams came come true with this cotton candy coan and popcorn toppings. Definitly a must visit.
Inamo: Inamo sushi is not only legendary for its sushi crunchy rolls but mostly for its interactive tables that allow you to order and preview all your meals via touchscreen, play ping pong while you wait for your food or watch the live camera how they prepare your food in the kitchen. A fancy fun place to visit when in the city J
Sketch: This restaurant and bar with the famous egg toilets is one of my fav spots for teatime in arty fantasie rooms such as the Alice in wonderland garden room or the pink tea time room and should not be missed when looking for a unique location in London.
Camden: Daily vintage market, little gadgets and a street food market with variations from all over the world.
 Winter Wonderland: The first time I visited winter wonderland and it reminded me of a mix of German christmas markets and Oktoberfest 🙂 Its huge located around hyde park and you will find everything from hot wine, churros and rollercoaster rides. Open until January 2 from 10am-10 pm.
