The coolest hotel pool in africa @ Four Seasons Serengeti

I dreamed about doing a safari for so long so I was happy to finally combine it with a trip to Zanzibar that we had planned since a while. We flew with Turkish Airlines via Istanbul to Zanzibar which was very convenient as they use quite small planes for the route and we were able to enjoy the Turkish Airlines lounge in Istanbul.

Its one of my favorite lounges in the world offering day sleeping rooms, spa facilities with massage beds, a movie cinema and the most amazing fresh food you can imagine wherever you look. So if you ever go to the Istanbul Atatürk airport you might want to go a little earlier than usual to enjoy all the lounge facilities, time rly flies here! I created a video about the lounge and more infos on my recent visit which you can find here.

We arrived in Zanzibar and before enjoying some beach days went straight to Four Seasons resort located in Serengeti nationalpark which was a once in a lifetime experience. To get there we took another plane with coastal air, the safari airline which were very small planes taking you directly to your safari spot. Flying over the serengeti area was unbelievable spotting zebras and lions out of the plane living in their natural environment.

As soon as we landed our Four Seasons driver was already waiting for us with some arrival snacks and it was the first time we saw our safari car for the next few days :).

After a 1 hour drive we arrived at Four Seasons Serengeti and let me tell you one thing, I`ve seen many hotel pools around the world but this one is one of the coolest ever. The infinity pool is located next to a water hole where wild animals come to drink every day overlooking the Serengeti (you never know exactly when so be prepared to wait a bit haha) and when you are very lucky you have the elephants walking by right your room terrace to get there.

We loved to do our game drives in the morning and were relaxing by the pool in the afternoon. During our game drives we saw lions, zebras, giraffes, buffalo, gnus, elephants and many more. It is a wonderful experience to observe the wild life and get to know a very unique part of nature in this world.

And when you get back to the hotel after the safari you can look forward to even more joy – as you know I am a big Four Seasons lover and here you will get everything. They call it lodge – but when I entered our room I was like `wow this is like an Angelina Jolie kind of lodge 🙂

Each room comes with big living area, king size bedroom, bathroom with bathtub and a big terrace with private pool facing the wildlife and nature.  The rooms are designed in the way that you can see all animals when they are on the way to the water hole. So you can either experience the elephants walking by on the main pool area or on your private terrace. In the evening the highlight was the the Boma grill restaurant which offers traditional african specialities and brings you closer to the Maasai culture.

We stayed 3 nights which was perfect for us and enough time to experience everything the hotel and Serengeti nationalpark has to offer but we found out some other guests who were experienced safari lovers were actually on a 1-2 week safari hopping to nearby safari spots in Africa such as Ngorongoro and Tarangire after to experience diversity in landscape and wildlife. So in case you are interested to visit more than just the Serengeti you can combine the trips easily from here.

It has been a unique trip to remember forever to Four Seasons Serengeti and I can recommend everyone to visit at least once in their life and plan a trip to this very special place. I would recommend it for couples, families, special occasions or honeymooners and everyone who dreams of doing a safari you will never forget 🙂

After our safari we hoped back to Zanzibar for some relaxing days on the beach where you can read more about here.

Thank you Four Seasons and Turkish Airlines for this incredible experience!
