Absolute bliss and tranquility await you at the Viceroy Bali located in the jungle of Ubud. This family owned 25 room accommodation offers luxurious villas with private pools, a Balinese spa, an open restaurant with bar facing the jungle as well as an infinity pool with breathtaking views. Sitting on your poolbed condo sipping your banana milkshake you will be thinking about staying here forever. The hotel vibe is very romantic and makes it a perfect spot for couples and honeymooners.
Away from the beach life, Ubud located in central Bali is surrounded by rice paddies, provides temples and inisghts into Balinese culture off the beaten track. Bohemian boutiques, yoga facilities, fresh smoothies and healthy food options create a modern vibe and attract a more spiritual crowd to Ubud.
How to get there:
Ubud is about 40 km from Denpasar airport. I went to Ubud from the beaches of Seminyak which took about 1.5 hours. Make sure to take a local meter taxi for the lowest prices.
What not to miss:
Treat yourself with a relaxing yoghurt massage treatment at the Lembah Spa at Viceroy Bali finished with a bath full of Balinese Frangipani flowers.
Lunch at my favorite restaurant in the rice paddies called Sari Organic. It is a 20 minute walk through the rice fields to reach Sari Organic. I loved the variety of healthy food options and make sure to try one of their fruit smoothies.
A morning swim at Tegenungan Waterfall in the southeast of Ubud embedded in a beautiful tropical jungle scenery.
The monkey forest. Ubud is famous for its sanctuary nature reserve and even though it is touristy if you like monkeys it is definitely worth a visit.
Goja Gaya elephant caves is a mysterious small Hindu site and belongs to Unesco world heritage. When walking down the steps behind the temple you will find a beautiful little tropical garden.
You literally have no idea how much you make me want to go to Bali right now. That place looks just incredible!
Love, Kerstin
